Allergies

Postby sammie » Mon Nov 08, 2004 8:30 am

Hi everyone! Sammie had an allergy over the sumer. We think she has one again. On her bellly near her right leg, she has red bumps. She is biting at them. We gave her a bendryl and it seemed to help her. What other things can I do to help her feel more comfortable until I can get her to the vet? She has an appointment to get groomed before she goes to the vet, will this help or irrate her more?

Thanks 8)

Grooming shouldn't make it worse. Unless you bath her a lot, the shampoo can dry the skin and make them itch.

It sounds like she's allergic to something in her environment, grass, pollen, trees, carpet, could be laundry detergent......allergies suck, they can be hard to pinpoint.

If the benedryl worked, I'd keep with it just to keep her from chewing herself raw. It doesn't have the side affects of prednisone..........
