Parvo advice

Postby goldenstatefan » Mon Dec 10, 2007 9:46 pm

I have a 13 week pit pup who has had 3 out of his 5 shots. I live in San Joaquin County (CA) which has a lot of Parvo cases. I want to walk my pup (Baron) but wonder if its safe to do so. I'm leaning toward waiting until all his shots are done, but the poor guy needs his exercise too!! I own a downstairs condo unit with a small patio so there's not a lot of running room. I play with him and try tiring him out but there's nothing like a good walk. Advice?

WAIT. BY ALL MEANS, WAIT.
We're nursing a baby Doberman back to health after parvo. You can wait a few more weeks.
Play inside with a ball or "flirt pole", but don't let him out.
Parvo's breaking out all over the place :(

Don't take him ANYWHERE where other dogs have been or can get to. Would you rather have a temporarily unexercised dog - or a dead dog?

Parvo is a VERY very serious illness that's leathal about 9 times out of 10

You're supposed to wait 2 weeks after his last set of shots, if I'm not mistaken

absolutely wait as others have also suggested!
it is not worth the risk.(and this breed is more prone to it too)
