Some dogs are allergic to dairy and it can cause bad diarrhea but some dogs can tolerate milk.

I let mine have a little bit once in awhile.

Yes. When you do something like that, you throw the balance nutrition of of the food off.

I use to give shady milk, he tolerated it well and loved it. Later I learned that milk products may have contributed to his bladder stones. That was a $1400 surgery and almost a $500 diagnoses.

Once in awhile as a treat would be alright, but not everyday in their food for the two reasons I listed above.

If you're purchasing a high quality dog food there should be no need to put milk in it.
Sure dogs would "like" it but they like dark chocolate as well, and it's toxic to them.
Just becaue they "like" or will eat it, doesn't make it good for them.

By Nature is also an excellent food you can get at Petsmart.

I feed By Nature. My allergy girl has a problem with the sunflower oil used in Blue, though my other dogs did extremely well on it. She itches on almost ALL the high end foods recommened (TW, Innova, Canidae etc.) but the By Nature is what ended up working best for her.
All dogs are different, which is what makes the Great Food Debate go round and round lol The food that works fabulously for one dog may not work as well (or at all) for another.

I have been told that feeding whole raw goats milk is great for dogs - everything in moderation, of course.
