i go there once and awhile to help take pictures for the website that is run entirely by volunteers. there is a secretary there that is very fond of pits and has a few of her own. the madison-oglethorpe shelter is almost no-kill from what some other volunteers say. they have an online paypal sponsership thing and they are doing fundraising all the time. they also give very low cost spay and neuter to anyone regardless of where the live, give heartworm treatment at cost, have a membership and give discounts on flea, hw meds. they also microchip all dogs and offer it for 20 dollars. they are much more organized and activist than the AC--I don't know what AC does as a group to raise money etc.. they just dont' seem very together, although individually some are great.

so you can compare. if you sponsor a dog or cat they can go offsite to adoptions--that is something else AC doesn't do. MOAS brings dogs to Athens every other week and has pups permanantly at one of the local petstores.
