Please Meet & help ANGEL! (Warning: Graphic Photos)

Why buy from a breeder when there are plenty of homeless pups in shelters???

Please Meet & help ANGEL! (Warning: Graphic Photos)

Postby APBTmom » Tue Nov 11, 2008 9:01 am

Please help us help Angel survive what a fellow human has bestowed on her.
Can you believe this sweet girl was thrown from a moving vehicle, only to crawl to a house where someone could find and help her? Talk about a will to survive!
After just one night at the vet, including a blood transfusion, her bills are already piling up. Please find it in your heart to give what you can. Even a dollar will help her road to recovery.

I personally vouch for Angel and the Organization (Pit Positive) caring for her.

Thank you,
Ashlie

Will be sending a little something on Fri. She is so skinny I want to cry, it's hard to believe she's not a puppy.

Please do. Getting a closer look at her trying to walk I noticed that it's not only her elbow that's messed up. It's the whole leg (notice the shoulder and ankle too). She needs all the help she can get!

that poor baby. Are they trying to make her walk just for video purposes? Because I think id just let her eat and conserve her energy until she regains some strength. Has there been bloodwork done to check on her organ function?

She was wanting to walk around. They just try to support her so she doesn't fall. She has a definate will, but they are new to a situation like this.
Read below for the updates I have received since I met this girl:

November 10,2008
She is now at the hospital- we took Brock along so he could donate blood (vet friend told us she might need a transfusion, and if we had an extra dog around to bring him) I couldn't believe this girl was still breathing when we got her in Lakeland today, nothing but bones, she was cold to the touch, and her gums bright white- her anemia was so bad the level did not even register when they did the anemia test. She wants to live, she wags her little tiny tail even though she cant get up or walk. Please pray for Angel tonight.

NOVEMBER 12, 2008

We just got back from Vet, he said she is doing great, she is up to 21 lbs! Been feeding her like a little piggy. He said overall she is progressing really nicely "starting to look like a dog" and "you wont recognize her in a month" all that sounded good to me! He did not take xrays, cause there is nothing they can do for her now anyway (her front leg has an old break- looks painful, uncomfortablle) but later when she is better maybe they can do something with pins, or who knows.
She took about 3-4 steps at a time yesterday, today its more like 10-20. she is getting around!

NOVEMBER 13, 2008
This morning, Angel wagged her tail with the vigor of a healthy dog, waiting patiently in her crate for us to take her out- She walked 15 feet on her own, peed, then I helped her to the bushes where she likes to go in private #2, she took off! Rounded the corner around a tree, and went another 8-10 feet all her own deep behind the bushes!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Then, it gets better- back in my office, I was sitting at my desk about to write you all the above, and she was laying in the corner exhausted I thought from her walk outside just now, then wait, what is that? something under my desk? This time, she got herself up all on her own from a laying position (never done yet!) and walked 4 feet to be next to me under my desk, and put her head on my lap. I am not kidding. This girl is so going to make it!

Here are the pics of Brock, waiting patiently to donate to his new foster sister....He's such a good boy and had no problems helping her out!
