Rescues in Minnesota?

Why buy from a breeder when there are plenty of homeless pups in shelters???

Rescues in Minnesota?

Postby pheen » Tue Feb 10, 2009 5:42 pm

Any suggestions or sites that have a list of rescues in the state? I'm looking to get a 2nd dog and I wanted to get a rescue this time.

I know about A Rotta Love... I sent in an application last Friday and I'm awaiting a response. Unfortunately, I am outside of their 75 mile radius and my yard is not fenced, so I'm not too optimistic about my chances.

Rotta Love will adopt out of radius, I didn't end up adopting through them but applied and was ok'd and I'm way the heck away from the Twin Cities. There's a couple other pit rescues in the cities but I think the rest are all very strict 50 mile rules. Where are you located around? I'm in Int'l Falls, ended up driving 5 hours to a shelter in WI. Someone up here is trying to dump a 11 week old pit puppy on me, you want it? lol

msvette2u: Thanks for the link.

GoingPostal: That's good to hear. I'm about 60 miles north of Duluth.

Pit Bull Rescue of the Great Plains is located in eastern South Dakota. I don't know if they do a lot of out of state adoptions, but it might not be a terrible stretch to meet a dog prior to adoption.

The Humane Society has pit bulls now.

They have many locations in Minnesota.

Also consider rescues who will ship with a home check. Bullies In Need has plenty of dogs that need out of Ontario and will adopt out of province!

I think one pup went to MN recently..........
