Today when I was driving home from work I found a cute little pocket pit or puppy in the middle of the road just sitting there. I didnt want to see her get hit by a car so I poped open my door and she jumped right in. She was very nice and happy to see me. It looked as though she hadnt eatin in a week or 2, since she was so thin.
I took her to the AC place a couple miles away in case her owners were looking for her, and to make sure she didnt have any dire need for a vet. I asked if nobody claimed her when she would be up for adoption. They said never ,as soon as the hold time is up they will euthanize her, she said sometimes they release to shelters but that they are all full. I asked I could take her back, and hold on to her but they wouldnt have that. I offered to foster her until a home came, but non of that.
Which brings me to my question. Incase this ever happens again is there a better way to handle this? Is there any good bully rescues near south bend/ mishawaka, Indiana? While im not looking for a permanent 2nd dog, id be more than willing to foster one, rather than she her killed because of the breed.
Kinda ruined my day
