She's really running out of time. She almost got pulled for euth today, but I shuffled some dogs around and managed to find some space - I can't be guaranteed that will happen again. She's the sweetest, sweetest thing, and we all love her very much, but her long-term medical needs are out of our shelter's scope. She would need to see a vet to get an official thyroid diagnosis, and then likely be on meds for the rest of her life. Now, thyroid medication is NOT expensive, so once she's diagnosed, it's not a terrible thing. But it is beyond what my shelter can do. I've cried for her once today, and told them when it comes her time, I will take her for a nice walk beforehand so her last minutes are outside fun, not in a noisy kennel. Please don't make that happen!

Good News! I put a hold on her today! A sponsor offered to help with boarding so I am going to get her to the vets asap and then temporarily board her. I hate to board her at all but I can't let them put her to sleep!!!

If anyone is interested in fostering or passing the word around, please email me at mdebbrr@yahoo.com.

I was at the B-More Dog meeting when this was arranged and when I got back and found out I almost cried - SO HAPPY! I can't thank you enough, Michelle. She's so special, I know you'll just fall in love even more when you meet her. And Otis is going to be her driver? You better ask for me when you get to BARCS tomorrow, Maddy! I have another video of her from today but my computer battery is being cranky and I don't have time to upload it right now - I'll try to get it up later!

Thank you, Michelle - you're my hero today!

Geez, I didn't even think about the meeting I could have actually made this one! I worked the late shift today. Well I have a sponsor for her vetting and then we will work on her boarding just in case we don't have a foster lined up by then. Keep your paws crossed we get a good foster application! whoo hoo!

I desperately wish I could foster for her (even being on this side of the country). I would be interested in financially assisting in sponsorship if that is being set up. She really pulls at me! Please let me know.

Michelle, I strongly caution you against going to visit her. It could be very, very dangerous. You will end up coming home with a new dog.

I gave you fair warning.

I don't want her in a kennel for too long. She just pulls at my heartstrings!

She is a very special dog. One look in her eyes and you know she's seen quite a lot, I think you made a very good decision pulling this girl. She's got soul coming out her ears...

Honestly, I've been feeling a little burnt out on rescue this past week. I'm just tired, tense and stressed. Spending time with jelly today re-lit my fire. She gave me a much needed boost, and I can't really explain why, she's just one of those dogs that has a lot going on in their head...
