Lucky needs a foster or home

This young boy's evaluation was sort of limited because of his injury, but we went through some things regardless. Excuse the extra talking in the videos and my backwards English.He did not display any resource guarding, with food, a bed he wanted to hump and a sheepskin blanket he showed interest for. Food was withheld from him as well as taken away, to see the level of frustration displayed and behavior that might have been a consequence of it. Aside the persistent jumping there was no guarding or strong inappropriate response. He offered a sit or put his feet on the floor when the jumping and reaching for the food did not give him much in return.He was definitely hungry and determined to get access to the food. I used a rawhide and a tendon stick as well, did not get a chance to upload those yet.A couple of bowls thrown by him, to see if there was noise reactivity or startle without recovery. He handled it well.



Some minor body handling, with pressure on head and muzzle and leaning over him. He mouthed once, along with the humping, and was verbally reprimanded for it, as well as kept down by the collar.The purpose was to see how he would respond to a loud reprimand and being physically restrained when aroused.Chances are someone is going to reprimand this dog in his life, and physically handle him. Not the way to go but since these things happens..The mouthing was minor, no significant pressure applied, I only felt him pulling on my coat.He modified his behavior for the time being.Definitely something he needs help with, especially when overstimulated.



Clearly, this boy needs some work put on him. Some of his behaviors are flat out rude but also typical. None of them were excessive or abnormal. The folks at the emergency clinic said that they had no problem with him whatsoever, including in proximity of other animals. Of course, that is one situation and not enough to determine his level of dog to dog tolerance.I wish I could have looked that over myself but that poor leg had enough. He needs a place where to go, asap, and if adding a permanent dog is not an option please consider foster him.If anyone is interested , working with him is a must.He is neutered, michochipped and the surgery has been paid for in full. He is expected to recover well but he needs extra care til the leg heals. This boy doesn't really have much time so please contact me only if seriously interested.

I posted it on FB and a few friends did, too. Hopefully we can start the ball rolling so this nice dog (and I trust Val's eval) AND nice soldier who was an amazing good samaritan can be helped.

Lucky is still recovering from his surgery but needs a long term reliable forster home or a good home. His time is very limited.I have had some crappy days lately, so I have not update on him, but I consider him to be another animal under my responsibility. Thanks again Carolyn. I can't deal with putting an healthy dog down right now, so please someone help him.I will be doing a dog to dog evaluation as soon as he recovers.

A dog eval will hopefully make it much easier to find him a foster home, that is the hitch I am running into with the people I have contacted.

Lucky came over this weekend, to meet Ice and my foster (both females). His responses were proper and he was more interested in my food then the dogs. Nothing worrisome was observed, and sharing a home with a friendly female is definitely an option.He just came out of weeks of confinement and his leg was swollen due to the fact that he had been allowed to move around the past week. The person who found him and helped him is willing to have an orthopedic surgeon to look at his leg, and get a second opinion on the future outcome. Lucky gained some weight and it was recommended to cut on the food intake.

He is being housed by someone but the time is limited. He needs a home.
