Special Needs APBT Needs a Home

Why buy from a breeder when there are plenty of homeless pups in shelters???

Special Needs APBT Needs a Home

A family friend's mother adopted this sweet girl as a puppy knowing she was Deaf. After her checkup's the doctor realized that her vision was also going, shes now about 90% blind. She is very sweet and well behaved. She will bump into walls but once she learns her surroundings she does great. She grew up around the owners grand children and has presented no issues with them. She has not been around cats (would most likely not mind them) but loves other dogs.

Her owner had a massive stroke 2 weeks ago and will not be able to care for her properly again. Because this dog needs a lot of TLC she is having difficulty finding her a proper home. If you or anyone you know would be able to provide her a loving home, please please let me know AustinLaSource@gmail.com . She is a great dog but needs someone to provide regular attention and help teach her where her surrounding are.

She is house trained and vaccinated, about 1 year old. Please contact me for any info on her or more pics. I can also get any details from the owner that you would like.

Thanks,

Austin

I had seen this innovative idea before for a collar for blind dogs. You use the extra long plastic cable ties around the collar and they work sorta like a cat's whiskers.

Best wishes for this pretty gal. Does she have a FaceBook link?

Sorry for the late response. Currently no facebook page for her, I need to get one setup.

She is located in Madison, Mississippi. She is so sweet, we are hoping that a special person is out there for her!

Thanks for all the thoughts and comments.

I wonder if Ashley at Lucky Dog Rescue: http://luckydogrescueblog.blogspot.com/ would courtesy list for you??
She seems to be a huge and respected animal advocate and deals with a lot of pit bulls as well.
She also runs an app on FaceBook called Pet Pardons.

She is located in Meridian, Mississippi.

Awesome - thanks for passing that along. I will reach out to her and see what she says. I read some of the stuff on her blog, she does some great things for the bully breeds.

We have 2 people that are VERY interested. I did not have a chance to get in touch with Lucky Dog Rescue Blog, but did get in touch with a lot of Bully Advocates in Mississippi and they helped me take the word Viral.

We will find out later this week If shes going to her forever home and where it is (Mississippi or Alabama).

Thanks for all the help and encouragement.

More Pictures of Biscuit...

My Favorite - She has no idea she is blind and loves to run and play. Only gets bad when she runs into a wall or couch or something.Image

So the potential owner in Mississippi met Biscuit and loved her, but Biscuit, being young, was too hyper for her current dog. We are still talking to the Guy from Alabama, who is retired and wants to Foster her.

We just want her to find a forever home and stop having to move from place to place every few weeks. Please keep spreading the word.

Also - I have posted info about her on my Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/austinlasource you can go there and add me to share her story on your Facebook page.

Thanks everyone.

Biscuit is going to her Foster/Forever home in Alabama today. I wish she would have been able to find a forever home closer, but I'm so happy she is getting out of those cages and into someones home. Thanks everyone for the support.
