Transport from GA to Ontario-- ideas??

Saw a post on FB about a 5 month old mastiff-y type pup needing rescuing. Can't get his picture out of my head (thanks Michelle! ) I contacted the person who posted him originally and she is going to discuss it with her shelter manager tomorrow.

In the meantime, I better get on trying to figure out how to get him here if possible. I've never organized something over such a great distance on my own. Thoughts?

I have a friend who just flew a Cane Corso from Texas to Nova Scotia. I'll see if I can get in touch with her and find out which airline she used and roughly what the cost was, if that's any help?

I just heard from her. She flew 2 Corso pups for around $500. She isn't at home right now so doesn't have the airline paperwork, but says it was either United or Continental. It was the only airline that would fly a dog from the states to Canada.

If the dog could get to me in western NY, I'd be willing to take it to the border. Unfortunately, I can't cross - I don't have my passport yet and I don't even want to talk about the enhanced license ordeal.

That's great! You're a star! A lot of the companies I contacted will do a Southern US to NE US route and I could definitely meet you at the border! (I had to get my passport to go to Topeka!)

If I didn't have my own guys at home and if my husband wasn't away, I'd drive down and get him myself!
