Adopting a second dog

Hi all,

I was interested in adopting a second dog and was wondering what to expect and what to look for. I know obviously that the new dog would have to be compatable with my dog as well as myself. I have two year old male, so does that mean I should adopt a female or is it possible to adopt another neutered male ? Has anyone had issues with their dog rejecting another dog into the household ?
