i work at a shelter in new york and they all like pits there. we always have lots of pits/pit mixes to chose from. just go to petfinder.com and type in 12771 in the area code and check them out. they all need homes!!!!

Which shelter do you work at? I was just back at the NYC ACAC shelters. About 95% pit bulls. Everyone there were great about the breed, but the temperament testing was sorely lacking. Some REALLY bad dogs were being released! Ouch!

I would love to know where you are... Keep up the GREAT work.

i don't work in the city i work in a little town in new york called port jervis. its a small shelter but a lot nicer than the ones in the area. a few bad pits slip through our crakes but most of the pit bulls that we send home are great dogs and we always try to tell anyone that comes in talking about how its a bad breed and how they would never get one, more about the breed. they are great dogs. sometimes we even end up sending one home to one of those people
