ONTARIO SUCKS and Help is Desparately needed

Postby ladyluna » Fri May 11, 2007 10:50 pm

As a fellow Ontarian I bring this to you, talk about change in the Dog Owners Liability Act came and a bunch of strangers ban together to try and fight the big guy. This fight had proven to be a challange and as small folks it a big puzzle we lost. Bullies in Need and other groups came together to try and help dogs in need. Good people like those on this forum decided to be a voice for those who can not be heard.

As an Animal Control Officer and a pit bull lover, the pain of enforcing this law takes every ounce of strength I have and just when I think things are looking up....It always takes a turn for the worst again. When do you walk away and say you can not help, when do you stop playng God. When do you just quite beleiving somewhere out there there will be harmany. When do you stop caring and become climatized to the powers above......

I wish I could say i didnt care, I wish I could walk away and forget the name pit bull ever exsisted......But I cant......

Sharon and I went to a shelter to pull a dog today. And as we walked through the room the sadness was clear. Pit bull after pit bull in their concrete sancuary. You try and close your eyes and imagine they are all other breeds.......

But when we opened our eyes GUESS WHAT WE SAW

She is about 5 - 6 months (female)

No she is still in the shelter, has been about a month now. She needs a foster. But most of all a home out of province

Can you guys provide her with a foster? And how much time does she really have in that shelter?

At this time we dont have a foster, I really wish we did.... We just pulled another pup that was waiting longer.... I dont exactly know how long she has. The shelter staff adore her and want to help her but tiz the season space is very limited. And they are running out of it fast. Thats why they are desparate

Thanks Angie, it was really hard to leave her there i must say!! and all the others too

She is so tiny and sweet, really easy dog for the first time bully owner. Too bad we don't have video of her doing the zoomies in the garage, too funny! She is a mix, just not sure what else she is mixed with.

Sharon and I had this discussion yesterday, Its so damn hard to tell with these dogs, she is about 6 months, tiny, definately staff/pit bull characteristics, muzzle slightly longer but not un common and she is a tad thin but may still fill out...... God I hate this law and these circumstances....

Yes, she does unfortunately  She tested fine with dogs/cats in the shelter though.

If you are interested in adopting a "restricted" pit bull, take a look here for more dogs available www.bulliesinneed.ca
