Help in Houston! Homeless male Pit needs rescue!

Postby stillhoneymooning » Mon Jul 30, 2007 12:57 pm

A friend of mine found this guy wandering the streets and took him in (we all know Houston isn't a great place for stray pits).

He is very friendly, no food aggression issues. Unknown with other dogs and cats, but seems to be very laid back.

As yet unnamed. No tags. No reports matching him in terms of missing dogs have been filed at any local shelters.

My friend can NOT have a pet right now so he needs to find space for this guy in a foster or forever home or with a rescue.

If you can help, please contact me via PM or post your contact email here and I'll get you in touch with my friend.

I am not sure how to post pics, but here is the links to his pictures in case anyone wants to post them correctly.

Hope someone can help this sweet boy.

Just to update, an email was sent to Spindletop rescue by my friend who found the dog.

So far, no response.

Thanks to those who suggested contacting that particular rescue.

As of right now, the dog is living in my friend's yard. His landlord will not allow him to keep the dog in the house because of a "no pets" policy.

The dog does have shelter in the yard and the yard is fenced, but it is far from an ideal situation. My friend is trying to do the right thing by this dog, but he really needs some help.

He wanted to just turn the dog into the Humane Society, but I don't think they very closely screen adoptees there, so I'm afraid it might not be the best for the dog.

I convinced him to wait a few days to see if I could find someone willing to take the dog.

How old is this dog, he looks like a pup?

My friend doesn't know how old he is and he doesn't have the money to take him to a vet, but he definitely doesn't look more than a year old to me. That's just a guess though. A vet would know better.

Time is running out for this guy before he has to go to the shelter. My friend just cannot keep him. His landlord wants him off the property.

No one can help? I fear his future in the shelter is grim.

How long does he have?

Also, has he been scanned for a microchip?
