Sweet old man, URGENT!

Why buy from a breeder when there are plenty of homeless pups in shelters???

Murfins, I will be taking Mr Oldie out today, and will be meeting a girlfriend of mine who is not a professional behaviorist, but has extensive training in this area. From there, we can certainly find some dominant dogs to test him against. I cannot do any overnighters, BUT I can bring him out to my place to meet the kitties, dogs, goats, chickens, etc. (and squirrels at the park!).

IF he can be transported, we absolutely can get a neuter done before he leaves, but transport would be an expense and with little to no time, would need to raise the money quickly.

I believe the skin issue is just a flea allergy. I will bathe him today and get the scabs off, hopefully that can begin the healing process. I believe Ellena said the shelter Vet put him on antibiotics already, which is great.

Kelly, I'll PM you.

My husband says ok pending he has no current dire health conditions, and that it isn't going to cost a fortune to get him out here to Wilmington. Feb. 1 would have been ideal money-wise, as we're short for Jan with my other pittie, Molly's ACL surgery from December. I can come up with some money for the trip. I just don't know if it will be enough.

Anyway, where do I go from here?

Kelly

That's great news....you should send Ellena a PM just in case she doesn't see your response right away.

What is the biggest airport near you?

I've just done that. :)

Our local airport is ILM international (Wilmington, INT'L). The biggest though, is probably Raleigh-Durham (RDU) two hours away.

I just want everyone to know that we are currently in PM discussions with the folks who have offered to take our old man.

There are some major health concerns that have been noted by ourselves and the shelter Vet, and I am not sure there is really a feasable option for our old man, who we are now calling Puck. We will keep everyone updated as we do more thorough asessments, before making any final decisions.
