Toes Needs a Better Life

Why buy from a breeder when there are plenty of homeless pups in shelters???

This was on my rottweiler list and permission to crosspost information has been granted.

This is about a new group some of us have been organizing. I mentioned on the list
a couple weeks ago that I had an announcement to make and that I would be
asking for your help.

One of our good friends who lives in Knoxville, TN, is retired, is a
pilot and has his own plane. Last fall, when he heard that we were
adopting a rescue dobe from Florida he generously offered to fly down and
pick him up. I was humbled by his generous offer and this began a path
that neither one of us expected.

Jon, my pilot friend, has a big heart for animals and a soft spot for the
ones in need. He told me that all his pilot friends were always looking
for a reason to fly and what better way then to help transport animals?
We began brainstorming about this and came up with a beginning plan. Our
biggest challenge is how do we connect pilots with rescue animals who need
transport?

Which brings me to the reason for this post. Since our DAN group is
national I am hoping that some or all of you will print out this flyer,
make copies, and take them to your local airports where you can ask
permission to post it to the pilots bulletin boards. Our new group is
called Pilots-N-Paws. We have just started a website,
http://www.pilotsnpaws.org , with a link to a bulletin board where pilots can
post their offers and rescues and transport coordinators can post their
need. Hopefully, a pilot who is available will reply to the need and the
two parties will then coordinate their own transport.

Jon has already donated his time for two DAN case flights and is always
on stand-by for future cases. I will only ask him for those furkids who
would have a difficult time with ground transport.

If you have a spare minute in the coming weeks when you are out running
errands, I would really appreciate your helping us. There is a
tremendous need for this type of transport for animals, particularly
those who are older, have medical conditions, or are expected to have to
ride in 16 different cars for two days to get to their second chance
home. Please feel free to crosspost this information to rescues, all
breeds too, and to any transport coordinators you may know.

Thank you all, for reading this and for assisting us in with this new
venture.

I'd be happy to pick Toes up at any airport if need be.

It read to me like the person who wrote that was offering to pay for the neuter if it hadn't been done yet and he was going back East. It wasn't a condition, but an offer for help, at least the way I read it.

The full quote is:
well, if ends up out here on our end of the states, and hasn't been altered, I am more then willing to pay for the whole thing, or chip in a good portion of it.

"The whole thing" and "it" in this case both refer to having the dog altered, if it hasn't yet been done.

That just didn't come out right did it...lol...I meant if he would get out here to our side of the states, I would chip in a large portion to have neutered, if it wasn't done already, or pay for the whole thing. But, hopefully, if all goes well, Toes will have a new home soon.

Not sure what is going on with Toes, but if he is going to be passing through the area I would gladly help with transport
