Sky in Maryland, available again

Postby BabyReba » Mon Dec 13, 2004 11:33 am

Sky is back in rescue, as I've posted everywhere . . . But I figured I'd post her pics and bio again to help get her some exposure. She's a kid-friendly, dog-friendly (so far), cat aroused but not cat aggressive, 9-month-old pit bull pup who I've known since she was about 6-8 weeks old.

She adores playing with other dogs, licking faces, greeting new people, and playing with her soccer ball. She is an absolute little doll, not just a wigglebutt, but a wigglebody! She knows some commands, such as sit, down, etc., but she's easily distracted and needs work on her basic obedience training with someone who is PATIENT and not going to be upset or short-tempered with her becuase she isn't progressing quickly enough. She's smart, but she has not been in a stable home long enough to learn to focus on her handler. She'll try to bond to anyone and anything that crosses her path and gives her the time of day right now. She's been raised in 2 foster and adoptive homes, she's been well socialized, and she has pretty decent house manners--not perfect, but she's still a puppy!--but I'm starting to feel like this is a critical moment in her development and I want her in a stable home soon, soon, soon.

If you are interested in learning more about Sky, please feel free to PM me. Or if you know anyone who might be interested in her, send them to her Petfinder page at

Because she's been bounced around enough in her young life, I am going to be extremely tough on whoever applies to adopt her--her next home MUST be willing to commit to her for life, must be mature and stable and serious about wanting to own a pit bull, and must have some experience with strong, energetic dog breeds. Sky is about 55-60 pounds, and I don't think she's going to get too much bigger--she'll probably fill out a bit and top out at around 60-65 pounds.
