Why buy from a breeder when there are plenty of homeless pups in shelters???

I was told Ike had been picked up by his owners...well he wasn't and a rescue ended up taking him in. His fee has now almost tripled...but he's available! Here is the link

Wish I could take him...just got a house w/ a fenced yard....but can't afford the fee now due to this :(

He is beautiful!

$250 doesn't seem like an unreasonable fee to me.... ?

Aside the adoption feed...you recently posted about fights happening between two of your dogs so are you sure you are able to deal with another? It'd be unfair to Ike to be adopted and maybe returned because things don't work out.

It isn't if you consider that many rescued dogs end up with vet bills in the hundreds. An average cost for taking care of a sick rescue can be 4-500.00 and that will not be recovered by the adoption fee. A fee of 250.00 will cover the costs of that dog and may provide a little extra for the next dog.

If you acquired a dog yourself it won't come with vetting which means you have to fork out all of that money yourself including the cost of the dog. That's a lot of money if you try to add it all up.

a friend of mine works with an all breed group that routinely charges that much for mixed breeds and more for purebreds.

I love him... his coat is gorgeous!

and, no offense, but if you can't afford the adoption fee then it's probably not the time to get a new dog... that would be the smallest bill you'd end up facing with a dog... I know ours cost us a lot more than we paid to adopt them lol

That fee is less than I paid for either of mine.

The fighting isn't going on with my dog. I only have one dog, Izzy. The fighting is going on between my mom's two dogs. And they are doing better now. I was just up visiting when I posted that.

but if you can't afford the adoption fee then it's probably not the time to get a new dog

this is why I am NOT getting him and posted him on here. I know $250 is not a lot. BUT, like I said...we just got a new house and are in the process of moving, sooo...I put him on here hoping someone could help him out :)

He is stunning! I don't see a dog as good looking as he is having trouble finding a home

He is gorgeous! Love his coloring. $250 seems pretty reasonale. I paid $350 adoption fee for Sully and would have gladly paid more.

Good luck handsome man finding the perfect home!

 $250.00 isn't bad at all! We only charge $200.00 for ours, and I was recently thinking about possibly upping it because of all the costs we're getting into with Heartworm Treatments and Medical + Ugh. Killing me over here! lol

He's beautiful! I'd agree, $250 isn't bad at all. I hope he gets a good home soon.

Bear's adoption:
$95 adoption fee
$455 in vet fee's (and counting! $79.15 every week until the mange is clear)
I don't even know what I've spent for leashes, collars, toys, etc.

I never said $250 was a lot...he was posted on here before and I was just letting ppl know that had looked at him before...that his fee is no where near as low as it was. I could get him easily if I walked into the shelter right now, but since I just got a house...I now have to get more things to furnish is (going from TINY one bdrm to a 3 bdrm house that is like 4x's as big).

awwww he is sweet looking , Loyle dont feel bad , its good to know WHEN to add a dog to your home if ever you even deicde to.

thanks! I think he is gorgeous! And as much as I wish I could have him...I know it wouldn't be fair to him right now. Plus, I don't know how he is w/ kids and wouldn't want to take any chances
