Itty Bitty "Tink" in Washington

Why buy from a breeder when there are plenty of homeless pups in shelters???

Itty Bitty "Tink" in Washington

Postby Victoria » Fri Jul 04, 2008 9:37 pm

This little girl is SUPER FUN!!! She is in my local shelter, which is completely full. However, they love her so much, that they are hoping they will be able to get her on the adoptions floor soon - and have her listed on Petfinder in the mean time in hopes of generating interest.

I could not possibly explain to anyone how small this girl is, but my Dad would have said she is "knee high to a grasshopper". She is the general size of a staffordshire bull terrier (the scale at the shelter is broken so I could not get a weight, but would guess her overweight little fanny at approx 25 pounds) - even has that funny little alien whine when she is excited lol

Tink was a stray so we do not have a history on her, but if anyone in the area is interested, we would be more than happy to do some further testing.

Can you guys take some pics of her standing next to someone? That might help people see her size.
Any idea what she's mixed with??

OMG I love her!

We had an IDENTICAL looking girl with Bully Buddies a couple of years ago (colouring, size, body shape, everything!). The owner had bought her from a breeder in S. CA before she wound up in a local shelter. Wonder if this girl could be from the same lines.

Any chance you could test her with animals?

I saw a flyer advertisement for micro bullies that looked more like pit bulls than the low rider bully types. I'll see if I can't find them but they advertised really small pit bulls.

It would not surprise me if a few breeders were breeding for smallish pit bulls. They'll breed for anything people are buying.

We can test her tomorrow. Tink is very close to urgent. I'm sure like all shelters who deal with strays, this one is now waaayyy over capacity thanks to a huge influx of dogs from the Fourth.

For a size comparison, that cat carrier next to Tink fits a small (less than 10 pound) cat.

If she is mixed, then it would be with SBT, at least that would be my best guess - judging by her looks and personality. I have seen a male Pit Bull as small as Tink once, several years ago, so I am not saying she IS a Staffie, only that she could be mixed.

She is adorable! If I had a way of getting her to Maryland and knew she was good with other dogs I'd take her in a heartbeat!
