Why do dogs eat grass?

I always hear of two possible reasons. One is that they are not getting what they need in their diet, and the other is that they have a stomach ache. What is everyones thought on it?

My dogs eat plenty of quality food and still eat grass. I don't think anyone knows exactly why they eat grass.

Sam eats like the King himself and still loves to eat grass and sticks and rocks and shoes and well..........you see my point. Do wolves eat grass?

On a serious note though, clumping litter can become impacted in their intestines and cause them serious problems.

I dunno why either, my pit LOVES to eat grass. Especially once it is freshly cut off and into chunks. I can't seem to stop him, once I let him out the yard he'll eat it, maybe he's hungry? I dunno. :sad:

Ours love to graze, Rachel tears up the soft shoots and feeds it to them like they are horses. Pretty funny.

My dogs eat grass some times. It seems to me like they are trying to solve stomach problems. The eat grass and after a while they usually throw it up. Especially one of my dogs do this. I used to have a Papillon to, she did the same thing.

I can't really tell you why they do it but my dogs graze all the time. They will graze right next to the horses, they rarely throw it up. Makes their poops interesting sometimes!! roflmao

Mine get veggies and stuff but still graze, and of course their all time fav is horse poop.........they look for the freshest pile.

That's an understatement :roll: Have yall' ever had to pull a blade out that didn't want to come all the way out when they pooped? Or watch them smash crap into their bottom trying to scoot it out? :yucky:
