Hello from Philly

Postby Ruger » Thu Oct 09, 2008 11:44 am

Hello everyone!!! My name is Roc and I have a 10wk old pit named Ruger. I’m a 21 yr old college student. We live in Philadelphia, Pa. He is my first dog and I named him after my first firearm. I loved APBT my whole life, but my parents would never let me have one. Now that I’m grown and on my own I made sure I found the perfect APBT for me. I had him since he was 6 weeks. He’s still learning the ins and outs of everything, but he’s doing well so far, he’s already house trained and knows all basic commands. I love him to death and hope PBTF helps me raise him in the best way possible.

Welcome! He is definitely a cutie, I love his colours. Six weeks is a bit early to "leave the nest", obviously it's too late now but if there's a next time the extra 2 weeks (8W/O) is crucial.. :blah: You'll learn a lot of beneficial stuff for you and your pup here. :))

I know 6weeks is a lil early, i felt like i had to take him though cause the person who has his mom wasn't taking good care of them. I worked really hard to keep him healthy, i did my research and fed him puppy milk for the remaining 2 weeks. I think i did a good job, he's doing very well. He has two left that im trying to find someone to take in. Because if not i'm scared they will pass away. They r less than half the size of my ruger and their living conditions r the worse.
Thanks for the compliment!!!!

Sounds (and looks) like you did a great job, good for you! I hope you can find someone. If the 'breeder' takes such poor care of his dogs, I'm sure he won't care who or what he sells to if it means a quick buck.
If you really think they would die anyways, you may be able to get them free from him and find them good homes, or at least call AC or something about a neglect case.
Good luck. :frown:
