Another newbie

Hi,

I wanted to introduce myself. I'm not much of a talker, more of a lurker, but didn't want to lurk in the dark.

I am relatively new to pits. I'm about 7 weeks into it to be exact. And after reading here for a couple of weeks I thought I should register. I am sure I am in the right spot to ask questions.

Great site.

And I look forward to posting some.

PS: I spent a whole afternoon looking at pictures here. There are some beautiful dogs here. And as soon as I have access, I will post some pics of my beauty.

Thank you for the welcome.

Her name is Daisy. We were told at the time that she was a 12 week old amstaff/whippet mix. But I am having my doubts. Not that it matters, because she is happy and healthy and cute as a button. LOL! and smart and hyper and stubborn too.

Here she is the day we borught her home. I haven't uploaded any more recent pictures yet.

Yea, she looks pure pit to me too.

Even if she was the runt, I don't think she should be so small. 15lbs at 16 weeks. We were also told she was paper trained. She wasn't. I have also noticed that the SPCA here labels all pits as amstaff's. red-nose is always pit, right? So her previous owner could have been misled, or we could have been. Anyway, pretty much everything we were told, seems to be inacurate.

They pits as Am.Staffs because it would deter most people from adopting them. My story is a good example of that. I though Am.Staff and pit were different breeds, and had no problem adopting an Am.Staff. I would have been hesitant about adopting a pit because they were a "scary" breed that I knew nothing about. Oh well, Am. Staff, pit- all the same and I have no regrets.
