Having a vet you trust makes such a big difference.

I agree and I have 2 of them. When I got home from work today, Shay's oncologist left me a message. He said Shay's been on his mind and he needed to check in on her before he left for vacation. Him and my original vet have been talking. When oncologist gets back we will do bloodwork and then he wants to start her on steroids and chemo.

It's been 15 months since I posted this, thought I'd give little update. Besides some physical and emotional changes, Shay's vet and oncologist are very happy with how well she is doing. I second guessed myself alot in the beginning about her treatment, but I'm glad I went the route I did.

I thought I would update this thread since we are approaching the two year mark of Shay's cancer. Shay continues to do very well. She has become very clingy with me. The little things that never mattered to her are now much more dramtic but she is still loving life.
