Wanted to say "HI" on behalf of my husband Ralph and the 3 canines (and 1 feline) who let us live with them! We adopted all the dogs from the county dog pound -- 2 pit bulls (Bucky, who was just a little guy, about 12 weeks old; and Kayla, who was turned in by her owner, and Opie, a yellow lab "teenager"). They are all somewhere between 2 and 4 years old now.
We didn't know pit bulls until we actually adopted the first (Bucky). He was a wild kid, but has developed into an amazing, wonderful, loving, funny "dude." Kayla was extremely traumatized when we got her -- I have NEVER seen such an emotionally distressed dog in my LIFE! She was unused to living in peace with other dogs, and went through several courses of veterinary treatment as a result. What a relief to have THAT phase over. Now she is the "princess" of the household. Opie is much loved by both pits -- he's their playmate (and is most often the instigator of wrestling & running). He's the biggest of the 3 at 80 pounds, and is a real "mush."
It's always so great to learn about other great pits and their canine and human companions! Love the site!
