New grain-free dog food!

Postby KadillacGrrl » Sat Nov 28, 2009 5:14 pm

I was at Costco yesterday to get my usual food and I spotted a new bag... Nature's Domain Salmon and Potato formula. It was $27.95 for a 35 lb bag. I decided to give it a try. The dogs LOVE it and I am even feeding it to my sensitive old dog.

Ingredients:

salmon meal, sweet potatoes, peas, potatoes, canola oil, potato protein/fiber, flaxseed, ocean fish meal, blah blah blah.

We really need to get a Costco card!

That is cheaper than Diamond Naturals Lamb and Rice and by the ingredients, is better for them. I will have to tell my Mom about this food. Thanks!

Odd question, but could you possibly take a photo of one of the kibbles next to something like a penny or quarter or easily recognizable item?

I googled it and found a discussion of it on another forum. The people there seemed to think it was made by TOTW (Diamond), only a bit heavier on the starches and less meat, maybe their "B" grade food. Still sounds like a good deal though.

There's a good chance, since Costco's Kirkland dog food is made by Diamond and is very similar to Diamond Naturals, Chicken Soup, Premium Edge, etc.

I wish I had a Costco near me for the cat/dog food alone. It'd be even better if they have something along the lines of TOTW now, too. It's the only thing that keeps weight on one of my dogs. Maybe it'd be worth the 30 min drive.

Gosh, I might just have to get a Costco card and make the trip into Albuquerque. I could totally see myself buying four bags at a time of that and being happy lol

Right now I'm spending nearly $50 on one bag, and almost $40 on the other!
