I'm worried about my elderly Tiva, who is 14 now. Two springs ago she had a large mast cell tumor develop on her tail. They removed it, but couldn't get clean margins and it was a high grade 2, so her tail was then amputated. She has had 2 great years, and while she sleeps more than when she was a kid, she's still tough as a battleax. She runs around each day, plays with our young pittie each day, and loves to lie in the sun. She's had a number of new lumps appear, and each year we've had them aspirated, and they've been clean, clear of mast cells. But now she has a few more lumps that are worrying me, along her spine, and I'm putting off calling the vet to have cells drawn from them to check for new cancer. I guess I'm afraid that we'll find out the cancer has returned, and I'm not sure what we'll do them--more surgeries? Chemo?
Oh well, after the holiday weekend, I guess I'll call the vet. Wish us luck! I hate cancer.
