BLESS your hearts for taking Hope in and giving her the time, patience and love to become a dog. Thank Cody too!
Also thank you for taking your time and spreading the word that dog fighting is not something we as a people should tolerate.

That's all.
Re: Hope - Fight dog recovering in WA
glad all went well - I am just so happy/teary that she is away from that "life", what a trooper, so many of them are...
Re: Hope - Fight dog recovering in WA

All -
Thanks for the well wishes; Hope appreciates them.
So a positive update: She's really bounced back to her happy, pushy, want-to-play all the time self; which is a problem we're happy to deal with (because she NEEDS to stay CALM for 2 more weeks!). I've really noticed she's gotten that sparkle back in her eye that was dulled a bit due to, I'm sure, the pain of surgery & loosing a leg. She's been doing quite well, though she and Cody remain separated because both of them want to PLAY!!! and we are NOT having another popped stitch around here! There's still a little seepage on the far end of her wound where she can still move her shoulder, but nothing we're too worried about - just keeping an eye on it to ensure the staple the vet put in holds given she already popped that particular stitch once.
Here's a pic of her incision; you can see the staple on the left side of the photo; to give you a reference point, that is closes to her tail-end. The front of her wound, as you can see, is scabbed over nicely and healing. We're keeping a t-shirt on her when out of the crate to ensure no debris/dirt/whatever gets into the wound.

And here's a photo from this morning while I was getting breakfast; you can see her personality has really returned:

She really is such a sweet little girl and will make somebody a great companion when it gets to that point - yeah, the plan is to still let her go so we can help more... at least that's the current plan

She sure is a sweetie!! I'm glad she's feeling better now. I'll pray for a fast and fully recovery with no problems for Hope.
Re: Hope - Fight dog recovering in WA
Thats wonderful I hope she finds a forever home who will give her a wonderful life
Re: Hope - Fight dog recovering in WA
She is beautiful, scars and all. Many good thoughts for her.
Re: Hope - Fight dog recovering in WA
No pics at the moment, will try to get around it, but Ms. Hope got her stitches removed today. The vet says the incision has healed up great so she's done with the physical recovery
Now just working on training... talk about a stubborn little girl!
