Rebecca you know I am her for you day or night and do not envy the decisions you and Ben have to make. I have cried 3 times today, reading this thread one of them I feel like Ella is a part of my family, she has been my muse for so long and one of my best models. You have loved her so much and provided only the best of care and given her start in life you have treated her like the queen she is.

so sad, so sad :crybaby:

Oh no no no. Not Miss Ella. I started crying as soon as I saw the thread title.

Obviously I don't know you or Ella personally but she has always been a favourite of mine on the forum, and it is always clear in your posts just how much you love her. I can't imagine what you're going through right now.

I am so sorry. We here are sending all our good energy Ella's way.

I am so sad.
She is suffering, guys.
I have been in denial about it.
I had her sleep in bed with me last night, which she has done before, and LOVES to do, but she could NOT get comfortable last night.
She does these jerky motions with her head and her limbs. They're small and quick, it's like if you were to tickle her feet and she jerks them away real quick.
This is what she is doing with her and her limbs.
She kept repositioning because she couldn't get comfortable.
But I thought, "She's hot. It's warm in here."

Then she was drooling horribly when we got up.
I thought, "He said she'd be nauseous and to give her the cerenia and pepcid. And she's been drooling in the mornings for 3-4 days now."

But then I took her outside, and she's been slow moving lately (now I know it's the lymphoma). I watched her wobble outside to go potty (it's hard to describe how her limbs just do not move with the same grace that they used to).

Then it hit me hard: We were coming back inside, and she stopped at the stairs that go up from my sun room into my kitchen.
And she looked at me.
And I knew. I knew she was in pain and didn't want to climb those three steps.
And I started bawling, and I BEGGED her to climb those three steps.
And after me begging and bawling for a few minutes, she finally did.
But then I felt bad.
Because she climbed those steps for me. When I should be doing something for her.

This is unbearable.

I do not know how I am going to make it through this.

After many tears and fits of RAGE, we are letting Ella go this morning.

This is NOT a decision we have made without thought.
It is a decision we HAVE TO make.
It hurts us to see her suffer. She cannot play ball, she cannot be happy.
She cannot climb the damn stairs to get back into the house.
She cannot lay comfortably for more than 5 minutes without having to fully wake up and re-position herself.

We're letting her go and it's set for 10 am.
Which is sooner than I would have liked, but it is the time. :crybaby:
