Anakin (finders are star wars fans) was found on the side of the road in eastern NC. He is skin and bones with hacked off ears and nails curled under his feet. He went to the vet today for some basic care. Once he is well enough we will finish up his vetting and be looking for a foster home. Please consider donating to help Anakin get neutered, wormed and vaccinated. We have had some really hard luck dogs in the past two years, two broken legs, two amputations, several HW treatments, we are down to scraping the barrel on funds.

Anakin was heartworm NEGATIVE!!! YAY, of course we will re-test in 6 months but fingers crossed it will be negative then too!

Thanks everyone for their thoughts and donations for Anakin. He is doing well. He has been wormed, vaccinated and started on Hw prevention. I can't believe he is negative. We will still test him again in 6 months and cross our fingers he is still negative. It will be several weeks before he can be neutered. He's eating 6 small meals a day to try and not overload his system since he's been hungry for so long.
