Tripod Boxer!!
Hey all,
We have a purebred boxer at my place of work who is in need of a home.
About 2 months ago we got an emergency call about a boxer who had broken his leg, and the owner said he'd be right in. Several hours later, there was a call from animal control about a boxer tied to a dumpster with a severely injured leg. The femur was shattered, and an extensive repair was performed to try to save the leg, but it just didn't heal well. Soo... 8 weeks and an amputation later, Mister is finally ready for a new home.
He is good with our in-house cats, but would probably chase cats if they ran. He is quick to jump into a cage-front scuffle if another dog seems willing, but isn't overly dog aggressive outside the kennel area. He hasn't had many opportunities to meet other dogs since he's at a veterinary clinic.
Just hoping to find this boy the home he deserves...

Re: Tripod Boxer!!
Would you mind if I posted his info on Tripawds.com?
They have a rescue and adoption section for people looking specifically for another tripod!

How 'best suited to be an only dog' is this guy? Absolute must or??
May have a bite for you already, but he'd need to be in another home with dogs. 2 boxers, one who is a tripod due to osteosarcoma.

Re: Tripod Boxer!!
We're really not sure. We have two dogs right now, one is a demodex rat terrier, the other is Mister. Neither gets the time they deserve because we've been absolutely slammed by the summer season. Both are very kennel aggressive, but Mister has been living with us for over 2 months... no surprise for a high energy boxer man!!!
Once he's out of the kennel, he's a dream. I'm sure with proper intro's he'd actually do quite nicely! I've been tempted to intro him to sheila just so I could take him home on my days off, but Sheila's been such a nut at work because its new to her, I just don't dare.
Oh, and he's a boxer with a full tail and ears... SO CUTE!!!

Mr. Man had a meet and greet today with a potential adopter... she LOVES him and tomorrow he will get to meet the 7yr old child of the family.
Wish him luck and lots of polite wiggles tomorrow!!!

Re: Tripod Boxer!!
I think this boy is still available?? There was some mis-communication about a temperament test from the powers that be (worried about liability, nothing wrong with the dog) and so his meet and greet never happened and I think the family may have found a dog elsewhere. Nobody seems to know exactly what happened but one day he was on the verge of a new home and the next he was not...

Re: Tripod Boxer!!
Hello all,
A bump to see if Mister can find a rescue foster... Mister has had several potential homes, but his issues with cats and dogs have prevented him from finding a single-pet home (not many single-pet owners come to our clinic!) and several people have had to turn him down.
He's now deteriorating and becoming unpredictable. If he cannot find an experienced and responsible foster, he will likely be euthanized.
