Meet Miss Malibu-The Junkyard Dog

You may have seen Mali in one of the other threads. I have been fostering this mild mannered beauty since July. Mali is a peach! Below is from her Pet Finder add. http://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/17733637?rvp=1 We are located in Norther California.

When Mali and her five, two week old puppies were rescued, they were living in debris at an auto wrecking yard. Malibu earned her name from the Chevrolet hub cap she used as a food dish. Her foster family has found her to be a quiet, gentle, uber love muffin that was born to be a house dog. Though she enjoys a good walk and a game of fetch, Malibu prefers quiet activities. She would love to just hang out and watch TV with her family. Malibu gets along well with the male dog and 2 cats in her foster home. She is house trained and would do best in a house with older children (10 plus years). This little 2 1/2-3 year old beauty is medium in size and weighs in at 42 lbs. She is UTD on shots, spayed, micro chipped and ready for her forever home.

While we have listed the devine Miss Malibu as available, she is currently undergoing treatment for heartworms. We expect this treatment to go smoothly and feel it is best to go ahead and start excepting applications on her now (you know how long finding the right place can take!)

She is an absolute doll of a dog with excellent leash manners. Someone will be very lucky to end up with her.

Miss Malibu needs to drop the junkyard moniker from her name... there is nothing junkyard about this sweet girl. If she was a person, she would be a Southern Belle (but one who drops an occasional cuss word that shocks you because it's out of character) She's the sweetest, most laid back thing on four legs... walks like a dream on leash, loves to snuggle and cuddle.
To give you an idea of her unflappable good will, our first face to face meeting with her occured after we robbed her puppies from the nest she lovingly made for them as best she could and used them as bait to trap her. As we carried her, unprotesting, to the car, we realized we couldn't set the trap down because the little puppies legs had fallen through the bottom (it's a wire mesh) She watched calmly as I, a total stranger, reached into the small trap and removed her puppies from inches in front of her face into a box. Her only acknowledement of the whole procedule was an almost imperceptable tail wag.
Today was the last of her heartworm injections, and though today was hard on her (thought she was bloating for a minute) she is recovering nicely.
She is one special dog and someone will be SO lucky to have her.

awww She is beautiful, I am rly surprised no one has snatched her up! And the pic of her sleeping on the sofa with the other dogs..awesome!

Malibu was adopted last week by a fabulous family who are proceeding to spoil her rotten. Luckily, she is too laid back to take advantage of that. She deserves it.
