awww I Hope that it isn't Mast Cell. :-/ I just went through that with Tyson. And he had .. LOTS of lumps of all sizes. One went from that size.. to almost the size of a Quarter. He had several that size..and the vet said the same thing.. too small to take a sample from it with a needle. And if she has it.. And get more lumps.. if they get bumped.. or rubbed.. it makes them sick. I had Tyson on pepcid 2x daily.. to help the upset tummys. Cause I couldn't keep him from bumping them as he had so many.

Im crossing my fingers that it is nothing! Keep us posted.

for now she's doped up, sleepy, sore, and reeeally needy. i parked her in front of the fireplace, but she was fidgety. so i lifted her up on the couch with me.
to add insult to injury, i'm fighting the revenge of some stomach bug. i thought i was over it this weekend, but it's still trying to kick my ass. dammit. oh well, guess misery loves company!

well, she kept me up most of the night fidgeting, but she seemed fine this morning.
much better than me! that lack of sleep didn't do me any favours, and i had to be at work by 7am today.
left mags at home, coned. she'll sleep all day on the couch.

the incision is looking good. the shaved spot is kinda slimming, it makes her look like she's got more of a tuck than she acctually does. it's a bit like wearing vertical stripes to look thinner

just got a call from the vet.

results are in! lump is/was a low grade 2 mast cell tumor, removed with clean margins. she said this is the most common, and it's unlikely to spread. i have to keep an eye out in the future to see if any more pop up, but she was pretty optimistic that there's enough other things wrong with my dog that will kill her before this does

at least having a short haired breed makes it much easier to keep an eye on the lumps n bumps!

on the plus side, recovery from a lump removal is a walk in the park after having 4 knee surgeries to recover from!
and CHEAP! holy crap, it was only four hundred n some odd bucks to get this done. i can't remember when my last vet bill (other than rechecks) was under a grand

I am PRETTY certain Maggie is responsible for that.
