American Staffordshire Terrier Looking For New Home

Hello Everyone,

I have a 6 month old brindle American Staffordshire Terrier female that is looking for a new home. She has all her shots and wormed and has her rabie shot. She is crate/house trained. She is still intact. She loves other dogs and children. She needs a home where she can be a pampered baby!

The reason why she is available is that I have 10 dogs and I am in to competing dogs in sport compititions. She just does not get the time and attention that she so deserve.

Why did you get her if you already had ten dogs? She's only six months old, so it was obviously a recent purchase. Honestly, you should've thought of that before hand. When you get a dog, it is a lifetime responsibility, not just until it's not convenient for you anymore.

I am so sorry I should have told you that this pup was brought to my house by her original owner and she asked me if I would take her in. I could not turn this beautiful girl away. Because if I did not take her in the owner was going to have her put down. That is the reason why I am looking for a home for her.

I know dogs are a life time commitment. I have been in the dog world for years and know how it is. This is the reason why the owner came to me to see if I could help her out. And of course I said yes and I never want to see a beautiful animal put down. Especialy as nice as this little girl is. She is a cuddle bear!

So if there is anyone out there that can help me place this cuddle bear please let me know.

Well in THAT case, I'm sure some folks here might be able to at least give you the right contacts to help out. I thought something sounded off with you being into doggy sports yet dumping a dog...most folks who are that involved in the doggy world know better...should've known my instincts were right! Sorry bout that...just wanted to make sure everything was good.

Have you posted her on petfinder? On pbrc.net? Seen if any local rescues can officially "host" her (for lack of a better term) while you continue to foster her? The more she's seen the better...

I'd also add that I don't think she's a pure AST. Her face looks pretty droopy and she's BIG for a six monther. I would guess she has American Bulldog in her (?)...something...do you know if that's a possibility? Not really all THAT important...just to satisfy my curiousity more than anything else!

I thought that she had american bulldog in her also because of her head. The owner said no but I really think that she has american bulldog in her bloodline somewhere. But she is beautiful and really sweet! Don't you think she is a looker?

I have not posted her on anyother sites as of yet but am working on it. Thank you for you help.

She's definitely gorgeous! I'm a bit partial to squishy faces (owning two Boxers and all), so the AB only helps her in my eyes! :inlove:

welcome, you can try contacting www.outofthepits.org or www.animalfarmfoundation.org they are rescues in the catskill region of ny. you should also try www.ebbrr.org as they do american bulldog rescue. i also suggest getting her spayed now before you adopt her out.

I just sent the link to this discussion a guy in your area who applied for a dog from me recently. He's in Mexico, NY, and therefore too far away for me to adopt to. Perhaps he'll turn out to be your girl's dream come true.

And ditto what Maryellen said: Please have her spayed before you place her!
