Bean has been off for a couple months now and we attributed it to his jaw infection (which I never posted about, last month he had part of his jaw removed), then we also found some lumbar sacral issues that we thought were the issue. All of those have since resolved and I just couldnt believe this was all old age setting in. I am perfectly aware he is 14yrs old but he acts no older then 8yrs old and looks the same.
Today we were doing a neuro exam to make sure his lumbar sacral is still ok and I found a lump on his tail. He is riddled with pellets from being shot with a shot gun 4yrs ago when he came into the shelter so it is so hard to differentiate what is lump and what is pellet. Took an xray and realized it wasnt buckshot Still not worried because we thought it was inflammatory response to the pellet next to it. Aspirate showed granules EVERYWHERE. I wanted to vomit.
Because it is on his tail and hard to get margins, we are taking his tail tomorrow. Also doing aspirates of lymph nodes and full body rads. Once we get the histopath reports back we will be off to the oncologist.
I need him to be ok. I really really cant lose him.
