New favorite question ever

"Hi, thank you for calling the MD SPCA. This is Amie. Can I help you?"

"Hi, Amie, do you teach cats to fight?"

"Uh. I'm sorry?"

"Do. You. Teach. Cats. To. Fight." (said slowly, because this is clearly an obvious question, so I must not be very smart.)

"Do we teach cats to fight?"

"Yes." exasperated sigh. Really. "To protect themselves."

"Uh. No. We do not teach cats to fight."

"Well, do you know who does?"

"Sorry, no."

"Jeez." Hangs up.




I am now organizing a tiny Kung Fu Kitty class, so if anyone can provide a reasonable source for teeny tiny gis, I'd appreciate it. Think of all the money I'll make!

I can't imagine what he was thinking, maybe he's got strays beating up his cat. So he should bring his cat inside.

My favorite was when we were asked if any of our vets could "talk" to her dog and find out if he was ok with being neutered, because she had heard from someone vets had psychic abilities (seriously, her words). This was shortly after she asked if she could get in one of our cages, borrow an e-collar for her to wear for a day, and lay on one of our surgery tables so she would know what he went through. I was dumbfounded, I honestly thought it was a joke. The only thing I could think of was to apologize for the fact that none of our Dr.'s have psychic abilities. She then yelled at me saying we need new Dr.'s and hung up. I was left staring at the phone wondering if that really happened. I've worked here for almost two years now, and in that time we have done about 30,000 spay/neuters and that was the only time I have ever been left speechless.
