Switched foods - now bloody diarrhea

I transitioned my dogs for three days last week and they are fully off of BARF and on Acana dry food.

My two little ones are perfectly fine. Maverick took a little longer to adjust but was fine two days ago.
Yesterday he had a major accident in his kennel. Pulled him out, bathed him, and went to feed him. He had very little interest in the food that he previously scarfed down. He ate a few kibbles off the floor then puked them up 20 minutes later. I chalked this up to him being queezy from the food maybe making him sick.

He was acting normal, playful so I skipped that meal since he wasn't interested. At 4am I heard him making noise, went in to check and he had bloody liquid diarrhea. Bright red not black. He had 3 accidents, one being bigger than a cd in size.
Still acting normal though.

I am waiting to hear back from the vet. From what I am reading this could be from the transition. I only transitioned for 3 days, as I have done in the past with no issues - he may have needed longer.
I am thinking I will go the chicken and rice route for a couple days and keep an eye on him today - make sure there is no blood.

Any insight into this? My other two are perfectly fine.

oh, poor thing. colitis, maybe, from the switch?

i would definitely do chicken and rice and maybe even give him 12-24 hours without food for his digestive tract to calm down before feeding him again.

That's what I was planning.
When he tried eating a bit last night it was around 6pm. I will probably feed him a little chicken and rice, maybe 6 ounces of chicken around 8-9pm.

He is boarding this weekend, which will be stressful to a degree, so I will pack chicken and rice for boarding too.
Colitis is what I read, so I am glad to hear that suggested from someone else.

I would also be worried about pancreatitis.

Girlfriend went over to check on him.
His kennel only had one little spot of blood.

Otherwise he is bright alert and responsive. Making sure he stays hydrated.
Going to do bland diet boiled chicken breast and white rice. For the next three days.
Then I will have to assess. If all goes well I will transition him to the dry over a 5 day period.

I won't be happy until he has a few normal bowel movements.

I think you rushed it - 3 day is very fast. I like to do 1-2 weeks to complete a major change like that. - hope he feels better soon!

In retrospect I agree.
When I switched them to BARF a few years ago, I did it over about 3 days. No bad reactions.
I will just have to re transition him much slower once bland diet is done.

I just feel really bad considering how severe he reacted.
