Thanks everyone. I spoke with the ortho surgeon who fixed her shoulder and he thinks a brace wont be of much help to us because of all her other issues.
So surgery it is. Ughhhhh this is so much harder when it's your OWN dog.
She doesn't handle anesthetic or sedation well so she spent the entire night last night completely zonked. I suppose at least that way she was resting her leg.
This morning she didn't want her breakfast at all which is not like her. I think it was a combination of feeling woozy still and not being able to stand long enough to eat. I did manage to hand feed her enough to get her metacam and tramadol into her though.
This is going to be a long few weeks but I would do anything for this old lady. She is my whole world.
Naturally, because the diagnosis isn't crappy enough, it's causing Obi's SA to flare up because I can't crate Buddy beside him. I contemplated moving his crate upstairs so they can be on the same level together still but he always flares up with any type of change so I don't think that would help. And because I have to pay for her surgery I can't afford to put him in doggy daycare.
