If she's not been eating with her meds that can be enough to cause vomiting and then that can make her not want to eat and the circle continues.

Thanks everyone. She seems a little perkier this afternoon. She ate about half her breakfast with a scrambled egg and a cookie. I haven't given her any meds without food--don't want to risk an ulcer.

I picked up some pepcid for her and I'm going to be giving that to her for the duration that she's on metacam just to be safe.

I think I'm going to take her to work with me tomorrow and do some acupuncture and laser therapy-- can't hurt right?

I love this dog so much and can't thank you all enough for all your support.

The old lady still didn't want to eat tonight but did eat most of her dinner after a lot of coaxing and a handful of wet noses tiny star training treats that I bought for the puppies.

She has terrible gas (from both ends!) and a rumbling tummy. It's so strange because I'm sure it's all connected but she has metacam almost daily, and had been on tramadol for ages with no issues. The gas and vomiting and inappetance started before I gave her an egg and that's the only thing she's had that's out of the ordinary. I'm stumped!

Day three, still not eating other than the 10 or so Tiny Stars cookies that she managed to pick out of her kibble somehow. I even threatened that I was dragging her to the clinic if she didn't start eating. Nothing. So right now she's getting only tramadol for pain, and no anti-inflammatory. I'm hoping laser therapy helps, maybe some acupuncture.

Obi is at home, likely frantic despite two Kongs, a bully stick and a Himalayan dog chew...

Maybe some pumpkin?

oh no. so sorry to read all this. poor girl. i know that button's stomach is usually upset for a couple of days after he's been put under, so maybe that's what her issue is right now. have you asked your vet whether mirtazapine might help? it's an appetite stimulant that works by quelling nausea, and it worked wonders for us when tucker was too sick to eat. hang in there.

If she doesn't eat today, we are going to start mirtazipine. She only had a very small dose of torb/ace and seemed fine immediately after recovery (long recovery which is always the case with her) but then this started.

I don't know if it's a tummy issue or a problem because she is frustrated and depressed that she can't get around.

The girls at work just got her to eat by adding canned food, liver dust and a mashed pill pocket. Maybe this will kick start things.

We did a laser treatment and the difference is incredible! There is definitely a noticeable difference in her limp already. It's freaking amazing.

Now to keep her eating...

Spoke too soon. Came home, offered her dinner, no interest. Beef pill pocket? Nothing.

Five minutes later she vomited up everything the girls managed to get her to eat today.

I'm so sorry you have to go through this with your ol'lady... Seeing them in pain is heartbraking... I really hope Buddy will get better soon
