Go! Natural Salmon and Oatmeal - recipe change

Blu has been doing SO well for the past year on Go! Natural Salmon and Oatmeal. Today I saw on their website that they've changed the formula, adding potatoes.

Ugh. I'm not sure how this will effect him. He's had no yeast infections since going off foods with potatoes. I don't know if I should try to switch to something else, considering his stomach and skin has been doing relatively well, or stay on this and risk something arising later on.

Ugh. This is the one food that works!

They've done things to the duck formula as well....adding an ancient grain with gluten in it.
Several poepl I know ( some breeder with whole litters with problems) are very upset and have switched to acana duck and pear

I'm thinking of moving to Nature's Variety Vension and Millet. No potatoes and made in the USA. Lots of ingredients, though...

Natures Variety has used china rabbit for their frozen food. And has had recalls

Natures Logic is an awesome food. The have a venison and millet
They make their own kibble, no artificial ingredients (like vitamin premix) and use whole foods instead. Millet has no sugar and all my diabetic clients do well on this food.

I sell Acana, Natures Logic, Horizon Legacy and Addiction (though they make half of their food, the salmon formula was made by a candian company)

Nature's Logic looks good if not a little pricey. I have never heard of Horizon, I will look into it.

Interesting concept, but I cant imagine peas and lentils are any easier to digest than any other carb.....I do like the low glycemic index, and they make their own food which is a prerequisite for me. No recalls ever, another prereq

I like the company, decent ingredients, great price point. A little high in fibre Only thing I dont like are the artificial vitamins and minerals but its kibble, so there are only 3 or so that dont use a vit pre mix.
I like it better than ALL those on the recall...before they were even recalled....

I have had samples and they went over well with customers. When I expand my store I will actually carry it. While I own a raw food store, I have to offer quality options to those who cant/wont do raw.

Blu is getting some yeasty areas, which could be the season, but it correlates rather closely to the addition of potatoes to the formula. He also had to go on abx from all his itching.

I am going to try a bag of this (Horizon Pulsar) and switch Blu over very slowly. I have to order it online because nobody carries it around here.

peas, potatoes and sweet potatoes are not good when there are yeast issues if I remember correctly
