Anyone here giving it to their dog as a supplement? Any good or bad effects from it?

Boswellia serrata
Re: Boswellia serrata
I have no personal experience with it but know it's been mentioned multiple times in Whole Dog Journal when discussing arthritis and joint injuries and supplements that are beneficial.
Re: Boswellia serrata
Thanks, the benefits of Boswellia when it comes to joint problems is the main reason I'm considering using it for my Brina. I will probably just have to try it and see if it changes anything. She doesn't really have major problems, just some occasional stiffness and weakness due to getting older.
Re: Boswellia serrata
Doing a google search with "whole dog journal boswellia" returned a fair number of articles published by Whole Dog Journal (and I always find them to be a very educational source of information) and I think you'll find them useful to you.

Thanks!

Happy to help.

Boswellia serrata
Yup. The supplements I use for Jack are a combo of glucosamine and boswellia. Boswellia functions as a natural anti-inflammatory, and conveniently enough for us (from what I've read, anyway) seems to be particularly effective for spinal issues.
Re: Boswellia serrata
Cool so I could use it together with glucosamine. Brina has been on glucosamine/chondroitin/MSM supplement for years, but her occasional weakness lately makes me think she needs something more than that. I'll try Boswellia and see how it goes. Thanks
