Can you get a locker at the training facility and keep the balls out of your home?

He is a "special" one and that is why you still love him despite the trouble he brings. :)
Good thoughts your way. Talk about when it rain it pours.

Nope, gotta train here too. The tennis balls arent the only issues, there really is no way to Newton proof this house. You do not know when he is going to obsess over something and half the time you dont know what. He is an odd one I tell you.

If they have to be home, the next thing I'd recommend is writing numbers on them and then locking them away when you are not training. The numbers is to make sure you have accounted for all of them.

They are, locked in ammo cans but not numbered, thats a great idea. This last issue he got on the table and into her bag. This is a dog who cant jump up into the car to save his life but he got on a high top table.

The bag is usually in a closet where it has returned.

Last month he decided he was going to eat the coffee table into tooth picks. Mind you this dog hasnt touched furniture the 3-4 yrs I have had him. If I crated him to avoid him eating things he would be in a crate 24/7, sooooo we will do what we can and try and newton proof the house which is more proofed then the house needs to be for a 20mos old toddler.

Unless we had concrete floors and walls it will never be fully Newty proofed.

:inlove: Good thing he is so cute!
I suppose you've already tried spraying everything in sight with bitter apple? Not that it would help with tennis balls anyways.

Bitter Apple, franks red hot, rooster sauce, lemon juice, lime juice, horseradish, alum, EVERYTHING. Pretty sure its just flavoring to him.

I wish I hadnt thought of that yet.

Oooh, the numbering is a really good idea!

I'm so glad he's doing ok! My friend's pica dog has some ridiculous stories; she's a vet tech but no zipper installed yet....

For those that have been following Newton over the years and our many escapades, we had to say our goodbyes last thursday.

He was with me and his dad until the end and went to sleep doing what he loved most.....eating a tennis ball.

oh newton. :(

i'm sorry, teal. i remember meeting him and he was the sweetest, funniest, cutest little guy. you gave him a whole lot of good life -- most people wouldn't have been as dedicated to him as you guys were. rest well, little man.
