HELP.. Itchy Hairless spots..

Hi everyone..

I have a prob with my pit.. She got a new itchy spot on her neck (actually not just one spot but maybe 10-15 spots, with a few redness on skin).. I really don't know the cause.. I regularly gave her a bath, i regularly clean her kennel as well..

Before she already got one spot on her upper neck but i guess that's because of her collar, it just healed after a few weeks after i removed the collar..

But this time i really don't see any reason for the itchy spot.. Can it be allergy? Because recently i gave her boiled eggs for almost 2 weeks about 2-3x a week.. I also gave her crackers for treat maybe 2-3x a week also.. And recently i started giving her flavored yogurt (strawberry and other berry mix flavor) 1 tbsp a day for almost 3 days already..

Could it be allergy? On eggs? Crackers? Or yogurt?

It could be anything. Demodex, Yeast infection, bacterial infection, etc.

Take her to your vet.

If you're going to give her yogurt, get the plain unflavored kind. I think a vet is in order - could be demodex, ring worm possibly or a number of things that need professional treatment. I the snacks you described don't seem like main allergy causers...

I guess it could be the extra foods i've been giving her lately.. 'Coz 4weeks ago i haven't seen anything like that on her neck.. I think i'll just stick with her dog food.. I've heard too much protein cause skin allergies..

I also give her brewers yeast, but lately she was not having much exercise due to my busy schedule.. I read many articles in the net that sometimes too much brewers yeast could lead to skin problems..

I'll post some of the pics of the spots as soon as possible as well as the progress.. I already cut off those extra foods I've been giving her lately..

She needs to see a vet. One of the many possible causes of something like that is ringworm, which is transferable to you, so it needs to be ruled out.

Allergies would be fairly low on my list of possible causes. Not impossible, but the neck isn't where I'd expect those to first pop up.

We're having similar issues.

We've done some tests and it is not demodex nor ringworm.

I get itchy when I'm holding them and playing with them.

Both of our dogs are at 1 year of age, and these issues have appeared in the last two months.

Our girl Diamond used to have hot spots that she itched raw on her neck.

Apollo our boy is more serious, his tail has symmetrical, bi-lateral hair loss and the tip is losing skin. He has a healing hot spot on his tail.

His tail is our biggest problem, Diamond seems to be doing better.

Looking for anything you may have found! Hope everyone is healthy.

Sorry for the very late reply.. but just so others would know.. it was a yeast infection.. i already stopped giving her brewers yeast for almost 4mos now and she's doing great already..

I guess my dog just has allergies on brewers yeast but not at all dogs are the sane coz my friends rottweiller is actually doing great on brewers yeast..
