Yucky swollen toe

Her toe is still swollen but not as much as before. The knuckle looks normal now but the end is still swollen.

I don't know if anyone is still reading, but I wanted to update. It will be 2 weeks tomorrow that we first brought her in to the e vet for her swollen toe, and it is still swollen. It IS getting better but really slowly.

She is due to get her stitch out on Monday (altho it will most likely be Tuesday due to scheduling conflicts) and I will have the vet look at her toe again then. She finishes her antibiotics tomorrow and he said if it wasn't ok by the time he saw her to take out the stitch he would xray it. He thinks it's trauma related....

2 pics taken today. I haven't soaked her foot yet today. It does look like she licked but I swear I never heard her do that.

hmmm. I know someone mentioned that Sneaky (one of Red's dogs) had a toe like that and it turned out to be fungus (IIRC). Maybe you could just suggest that to the vet if the xray doesn't turn up a reason?

TY! Peanut's toe wasn't as swollen as Sneaky's was and seems to be responding somewhat to treatment... but I will ask!

That does look ouchy. I'm glad it's getting better.

Vet saw her toe today and says it is still healing. It's not red or even pink, it's toe color. It IS still swollen some some esp around the nail base but less than before. He said it would keep healing but it would take a long time.
