bug bites??? allergic reaction???

Postby <3myBoogie » Wed Sep 12, 2012 11:08 am

I woke up to find these bite like marks on his lip. Bug bites? Got him a new Kong ball with ridges to get the treats... is it a reaction. I put hydrocortisone cream on it. I'm probably gonna take him to the vet if it gets worse or becomes bothersome. What does it look like to you?

(Note: i don't want you to "diagnose him"...just wanna know what you think lol)

Well could he have just rubbed it on something? Or I know sometimes plastic can cause a sort of rash/pimply outbreak on some animals.

I think the reason plastic bowls can cause this is because they are porous (sp) and can hold nasties....it may be that for as long as you've had the bowl it's been building up nasties and it's finally at a point where it's too much for your dog.

And I'm not saying you don't wash the bowl...I'm saying with plastic it's harder to sanitize it.

Hmm i see. Poor puppy. :( any suggestions to clear it up, or does that kind of thing need medication from the vet?

Here is a short article about different types of bowls, pros/cons: http://dogs.about.com/od/toyssupplies/tp/dogbowls.htm

I just use stainless steel bowls and have found them to be cheapest at places like Fleet Farm or Menards.
