Night shift newbie

Postby ravenlunartech » Thu Jul 25, 2013 2:21 am

Hi. I'm a widowed mom to 4 year old Beauregard, who we found wandering the streets. After trying to find his original owners without success, I had him chipped and neutered. Didn't know he was a pit at first... he's taller and heavier than the "standard." Big lap dog lovebug.
I work nights, and often find myself sleep-deprived. Tonight I found some Facebook posts for pitties at a high risk shelter, and it breaks my heart. Don't know what I can do to help them. I know it's a familiar song... maybe y'all can help find new lyrics?
I just started volunteering for my local Pit Bull Rescue group, as well as the local city shelter. Still in orientation phase.Right now I am learning about dog training, sheltering, and am working on "crate and rotate," a new concept to me. I am interested in fostering, and my daughter in law (who lives with me) has two cats. Beauregard and the cats cohabit wonderfully, and I can especially use any and all input from experienced multi-pet household folks.
Hugs and wags all around!
