Get well soon, Oscar!
Re: Happy Tail
I didn't think of it when it was a matter of life or death, but I'm now wishing I'd thought to take regular photos of the wound so I could see progression. There's a link to a photo from two weeks (and one day ago) and here's a photo of tonight. Slightly different posture, and slightly fuzzy since Rob let him keep the diaper off for a period (we'll do a saline rinse later) but I'm still really pleased with how things are going at this point. We have another check up with the doctor tomorrow, and hopefully he'll be just as pleased!

It hurts my insides to look at those pictures, but she's right-it looks so much better. It won't be long now before he's completely healed.
Re: Happy Tail
Rob and I have both commented that he's been fun and silly the past few days. It's been a long time since that was his norm - he's been much more subdued, in ways that wouldn't be noticed by anyone who didn't know him well. But he's definitely feeling not just "better than when I almost died" but GOOD.
Re: Happy Tail
Someone doesn't have to go back to the vet for another FOUR WHOLE WEEKS. Doc was literally flabbergasted when we told him we haven't used a cone in several weeks because Oscar doesn't chew on himself, and commented that his behavior is even improving (which means only that he's filled with normal loathing for a vet, not that he's particularly well behaved when people are poking and prodding open raw muscle). Everyone was very impressed with how well he's doing and I'm pleased as punch. Proud of my boy!
