HELP Boogie has a problem!

Postby <3myBoogie » Thu Sep 19, 2013 7:22 pm

Hi everyone (for those that remember me...and those that dont!)

I'm afraid I have sad news, and I'm asking for your help.

Last week i came home to find both of my flip flops shredded into a MILLION pieces IN his crate. IN. smh .

A few days later Boogie started frantically licking the floor...When i took him out he frantically ate the grass. I knew something was wrong. When he came in to throw up...he started like choking, it was truly terrible. I gave him something like the heimlich manuever and believe it or not it helped him to throw some of it up. I had to take him to the vet. They induced vomiting, and recovered a piece of the flip flop. I'm not sure how much of it they found. Anyway. They sent him home and told me to monitor him. He went home...and the next day he was FINE. The following days he was FINE. Eating drinking...and pooping fine...playing fine. he was FINE.

Last night ( 8 days after he went to the vet) he was frantically licking the floor again. He ate a TON of grass...and ultimately began puking excessively. He kept trying to eat it...but i wouldnt let him.

I took him to the vet yet again. They think he ate something ELSE. which is impossible. He's been closely monitored and crated with NOTHING near the crate.... They ended up doing xrays and it shows "bunching" in his small intestine.. right outside of his stomach (where it empties) ...They said it COULD signify a blockage but the only way to be sure is to give him a Barium study. They gave me a price and it was way beyond anything i could even fathom affording (at least $700) and then if there IS a blockage it would be another (at least) $2,000. I am devastated. They gave him an injection of Serenia (spelling?) to stop the nausea and im supposed to monitor him...

Hes been fine today. He even pooped. But the serenia is still in his system. My next step is this barium study.

I started a fundraiser for Boogie to help his current vet bills, and the ones to come. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to ask for donations on the board???? but i was wondering if you could help me spread the word....please. Facebook...InstaGram...Email...Twitter. Anything. We are desperate.

The full story is on the fundraising page, and IF by chance (God Willing) Boogie does NOT need the surgery and there is EXCESS money from the fundraiser. I will be donating it to another animal in need. Please look, and spread the word if you can. Please. :pray

If his intestines are bunching, he could have some string in there. I've taken string out of dog and cat intestines a dozen times where the owners had never seen the string I gave them and never known their pet had eaten anything.

No more Cerenia. It makes them feel better but it covers up the symptoms. If there is string in there, you need to know it because the longer its there the more damage to the intestines. String can saw a hole in the intestines when its stuck, and then your $2,000 surgery gets even more expensive.

Does your vet take care credit? Good luck finding the funds you need, and I hope your pup starts to feel better soon.

Are you a vet?

Oh my, you just made me so nervous. Would he be pooping and eating fine if there was a string? It has been almost a week since his last appointment and hes been acting fine. Eating, Drinking, Playing and going to the bathroom fine. I called the vet and she said it was a very good sign.

I started a fundraiser for the Barium Study...but I stopped persuing it since he seemed to have passed whatever it was... Do you think I should continue it???

Ok, got it. No more Cerenia.

Thank you for your help. I have applied for Care Credit, and I was denied.
