% of bone in chicken and nutrients and other stuffs... roughly 10% bone is recommended in meals daily for PMR/RAW feeding.

By Megan M Scull-Monroe on Sunday, June 17, 2012 at 2:53pm (repost from Raw Chat PMR feeding group on Facebook)

This is NOT a 'shopping list' of parts to buy and feed! This doc is to illustrate how bony chicken parts are.

Big Food, even for tiny dogs, is always recommended over bony and small single parts.

Buying bony parts may seem 'cheap, but they are not cost effective, and if you feed bony parts to the exclusion of meaty portions, you are shorting your dog of necessary nourishment.

In addition, small single parts are choking and abrasion hazards, even for small dogs. They are not recommended.

10% edible digestible bone is recommended for nutrition's sake - more might be needed for new-to-raw eaters temporarily or for 'good' (easy to scoop) poops.

We already have a sticky or 2 on Raw. This info can be added to the BARF/RAW stickies. No need to create another separate sticky that covers the same info.
