New to the site. Name is Conor and I live in NW Oregon. Just got my first pit, Hugo, a couple months ago. Adopted him from a family that bred their dog too much and had too many dogs to care for. He was 11 months old when I got him and a little skittish but has definitely become more outgoing and trusting. My girlfriend and I alread had a 2 year old chihuahua/terrier mix and he has turned out to be a great match for her. One of the most gentle dogs I've ever owned.
I became a fan of the breed because of their tempermant, energy and loyalty. Hugo is a smart and loving dog that just flat out awesome. I'm sure he had a fairly rough home life before coming to live with me. I adopted him through an intermediary that took him from the home he was once in. Apparently his father was killed by police because he was roaming the neighborhood due to his owners not watching their dogs. Not sure how true that is but I'm told it happened.
Hugo is now 1 year old, I made his birthday Halloween
, and he is about 65# and doing great. His skin has cleared up since I've adoped him and put him on a fish based diet and he is just loving life.
Other than my dog I enjoy hiking, going to the gym, and working on my car and going to car shows/events with my car club. I also enjoy doing all the activities that come along with being a home owner!!
